I am excited about my 3rd year as Curriculum Coordinator for AMM’s First Day School (FDS). This will be a unique school year indeed. My vision for this year of FDS is to provide as much support as I can to families, within the boundaries of physical distancing.
I will deliver monthly “subscription” activity boxes to elementary aged Friends. Each box will have actives, and suggestions for home spiritual practices for families.
I hope to enroll the help of Junior Young Friends in the process of imagining, creating, and assembling these boxes.
Registration is required so that the correct number/type of packets are prepared. Scroll down to find the registration and photo release forms. Please complete and return both by August 20th, 2020 either by MAIL or SCANNING/EMAIL:
1) MAIL to: Connie Green, 1505 Stanford, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 OR
2) SCAN and send to: email@example.com (Subject: First Day School)
Friends of all ages are invited to attend FDS Zoom meetings on the 2nd (time to be determined) and 4th Sundays of the month at 10am. Part of these gatherings will be an opportunity for children to share what they did with their activity boxes.
Separate Junior Young Friends meetings will be scheduled monthly.
If you have a child, grandchild, niece/nephew who you think would enjoy a delivery of an activity box, or to participate in JYF meetings, please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or Connie Green at email@example.com.
If you would like to be an adult volunteer please let me know.
Thank you Friends,
In the Light, Elizabeth.
Elizabeth purchased the Martin & Sylvia: How to be a Superhero Story Series which you may access via the link below.
Worship and Ministry is offering "Friendly Circles" -- small groups of Albuquerque Friends (and friends of Friends) to gather for spiritual and social support in ways that are mutually acceptable to the group. Sign up and indicate whether you prefer to meet by zoom, conference call or in-person (following agreed-upon protocols).
Groups of about 5 will be randomly assigned within the preferences indicated.
We encourage all Friends to use this opportunity to sustain our sense of community and connection during this prolonged time of separation.
W&M thanks Carol Merrill for carrying much of the inspiration and work of this new offering.
